Mazda Furai Review
The mid-engined sports car Mazda Furai, unveiled at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, was created on the chassis of the Courage C65, which participated in the Le Mans series. The car had a closed body with a carbon fiber monocoque, lift doors and two seats in the cabin. The striking look with flowing lines and surfaces was created by designer Laurens van der Acker.
Mazda Furai was not an exhibition model at all, but a normal racing car, although it never took part in competitions. A three-section rotary engine R20B was installed on the car, this power unit ran on ethyl alcohol and produced 450 l. s. The gearbox is a six-speed sequential Xtrac.
